Re: Readynas Pro 2 max memory
RAM is cheap so I want to install 4GB. I know that 2GB will work, but what about 4 GB?

Re: Readynas Pro 2 max memory
I think the ceiling is 2 GB per slot (Intel Atom chipset limitation).

Re: Readynas Pro 2 max memory
Hi has anybody tried the following on Readynas Pro2 running OS6? Do you think that it will work?

The following looks promising if 4GB works on the Pro2

Re: Readynas Pro 2 max memory
I don't think that it is a constraint of the chipset. Could be a limitation imposed by the firmware. This limitation might have been relaxed in OS6 - something that I have not tried yet.

There is an old post that claims it is. In any event, I did search the forums, and I can't find anyone who has gotten more than 2 GB working on the pro-2 or ultra-2. You can get more on the larger units (I have 2x4GB working on my pro-6).

Here is the spec from Intel clearly stating that the processor supports 4GB of RAM ... http://ark.intel.com/products/49490/Intel-Atom-Processor-D525-1M-Cache-1_80-GHz

It will support 2x2GB. But there's only one slot in the pro-2.
