Replacement disks RN102

Hi ,

I've had a Seagate STM1000DM003 hard disk Fail. I no longer seem to be able to purchase the same disk locally but have ST1000DM010 1Tb  and or ST2000DM008 2Tb drives available locally. These are not on the RN102 hardware compatibility lists but AFAIK are latter models of the same drive. Has anyone ever used them or had any problem using them in an RN102.

I'd get a Seagate Ironwolf - current model number for 1 TB is the ST1000VN002.

If you must get a Barracuda, then get the ST1000DM010.  The ST2000DM008 uses SMR technology, which is not a good choice for RAID.

Re: Replacement disks RN102

I have ordered ST1000VN004 disks as replacement.SInce one has failed the other may not be too far from failure so I'll  upgradie both.
