ST3000DM001 3TB + ReadyNas Ultra 2

Hi.

I was wondering if anyone have any experience with these HDD's in the Ultra 2.
I have searched the forum and seen that they work with Pro 6's and such, but was just wondering if anyone have any experience with this in a Ultra 2.

I know you have to update the firmware to the latest to support 3tb.

But as these disk's are not on the HCL for the unit, im just wondering

Disk: ST3000DM001

Thanks in advance.

Re: ST3000DM001 3TB + ReadyNas Ultra 2

Model: ST3000DM001-1CH166
Serial: ########
Firmware: CC24

I've been sent these by Expansys to fulfil an RMA of a dead ST3000DM001-9YN166 CC4H HDD.

I just wondered if there is any further info on these HDD's?

I see they are not on the HCL still. (Concerning?)

I also see there is no new FW for the HDD's.

If anecdotal info will help: I had those exact drives in an Ultra 2 Plus for a few weeks with no problem; they're now in my Pro 6 and have been working fine there for nearly a year.

Excellent, that' sounds like good news. Thanks.

Are they running original Firmware (CC24 maybe) ?

Yes, mine are the exact variant you described: -1CH166 with firmware CC24.
