Swap disks between readynas units.

Hi!
Is it possible to use disks from an existing RND2000 Duo V2 system (data on the disks) in a Netgear ReadyNAS 102 2-Bay NAS?
To my knowledge they have the same CPU architecture? (Marvell ARM CPU vs. Marvell ARMADA 370 1.2 GHz)

Is there any where I can get hold of a "table" over the different Readynas units and their CPU architecture, so when I want to buy a new one I can select one that will accept my "old" disks without wiping them clean from data?

many thanks

No.
The problem is not the processor, it's the operating system and the filesystem on the disks.

The following are 5 lists, each list of units would allow disks to be moved between them.

102/104/2120

312/314/316/516/3220/4220/716

Pro/NVX/Ultra/2100/3100/3200/4200

NV+(v2)/Duo(v2)

NV+(v1)/Duo(v1)/NV/1100/1000/X6/600

You will need to setup the new nas and transfer the data across a network, possibly using backup jobs.

Although I haven't tried it, I've seen posts here that say you can migrate between RN1xx and RN3xx/Rn5xx. Apparently the new NAS does an OS reinstall, and the file system is preserved. Not sure what happens to apps.

Apart from that possibility, these lists look correct to me.
