USB Disk REFORMATS as smaller size drive ???
[Firmware 6.6 - raidar 6.2]
3TB disk installed for back through a USB3 port. Initial EXT4 format properly recognized the full 2.79TB or so.
Then, i reformatter the drive, and it show 2TB capacity. Where did my missing .8TB go? Why is it not showing full size, it did before?
tried the EXT reformat again, same problem. Tried NTFS again, same problem.
Also, reformat only takes a minute or so, and that looks suspicicous as well.
help please.

Re: USB Disk REFORMATS as smaller size drive ???
here is my solution:
-- remove USB from readyNAS
-- plug it into a PC
-- run paragon partition manager
-- shows disk as MBR with 2TB max capacity - .8TB unallocated
-- use paragon partition manager or similar; reformay disk as GPT, convert unallocated space to single partition
-- reinstall USB drive back into RN204
-- boots and show ok.
-- setup backups to run overnight
-- backups crash system with kmem-cache_free+8
never a dull moment with readynas and cryptic error messages
