Unable to start RN31400 NAS

Suddenly I get no response from my NAS RN314000. I can find that it gets an IP but I cant find it in Raidar and I cant access the IP-adress.

Is there a way to get the data?

Any errors on the front panel?

Have you tried powering down and removing the disks (labeling by slot).  Then power up, and see if RAIDar finds it and reports a no disks status.

Reinstall the disks with the NAS powered down.

It depends on what happened, but generally yes.

If the chassis failed, you could migrate the disks to another OS-6 NAS.

If the issue is with the disks, you could try RAID recovery software.  That would require connecting the disks to a Windows PC (SATA or with USB adapter/docks), and also getting enough storage to offload it.

There are potentially other less extreme possibilities, but we'd need to get more information what has failed.

Have you made any changes on your network?   Does the NAS have a fixed IP address (that may not be the same as one assigned by the router to another device)?

Actually I can access the NAS if I remove the disks, It also shows its a new disk so I guess that my "USB Recovery Tool" did some effects.

if i start the NAS with the disks the fan never stops (days) ant the green diode always blinks.

So what would be the next step?

I would test the disks in a Windows PC using vendor tools (Seagate's Seatools, WD's Dashboard or Lifeguard).

Re: Unable to start RN31400 NAS

Hello

I have downloaded "ReclaiMe" and can see one drive when connected to my pc.

Is there a way I can connect the NAS directly to my pc so I can access the all the disks? Or do I have to buy 4 external hdd-adapters?

No.

You can get multi-bay docks - about $100 USD for most 4-bay docks, about $45 for 2-bay.
