Upgrading my ReadyNAS Pro 6 from Radiator 4.2.31 to OS6
There appears to be many discussions on the forum about upgrading legacy products to OS6
I just want to make sure that I've covered everything before the final push and perhaps someone would confirm that everything below is correct.
I have a ReadyNAS Pro 6 installed with Radiator 4.2.31
I am in the process of backing up my files before upgrading to OS6
My BIOS is 07/26/2010 FLAME6-MB V2.0 which is the current version and is OK
I have 1024MB of Memory which apparently is ok, but if not I can upgrade it later
My ReadyNAS Pro model number ends with -200 and should have a Pentium Dual-Core E5200 @ 2.60GHz and should be OK
My ReadyNAS has 3TB, 3TB, 2TB, 1TB, 3TB, 3TB disks installed which gives a total of 15TB
If I opt for X-RAID5 (Single Redundancy) this will give me 12GB (10.9GiB)
If I opt for X-RAID6 (Dual Redundancy) this will give me 9GB (8.2GiB)
If I upgrade the 2 smaller disks later to 3TB I will maximise my usable storage space.
After completing my backup I carry out the following
I download "PREP4TOR6_0.1-x86.bin" and install it from FrontView like an ADDON.
I Must Not Reboot Yet
I download R4toR6_6.3.5.bin and install it like a normal Firmware Upgrade
At the Reboot it will install OS6 6.3.5. It takes about 10-15 minutes.
Questions
1 - Are all my steps correct
2 - After installing 6.3.5 should I upgrade to a newer version.
- If so what is the highest version can I go up to. I see that 6.7. is available
