WD60EFRX WD red in Ultra4+ ?

Time to upgrade my trusty old Ultra4+.
ATM its running 4TB red disks and im eyeing the new WD60EFRX.
But there seems to be a total lack of info on compatibility from Netgear.
Surelly they have a few of theese disks and can try test them ?

Tho im not holding my breath since my NAS still after ages dont officially support the WD40EFRX ......

Plz netgear, step up your game.
Other manufacturers have disks on the compatibility lists before they are available to customers.

Hi Jobbigvolvo,

Thanks for the feedback.

What version of RAIDiator?

Are you using X-RAID2?

Note that you can't expand beyond 16TB. You have to do a factory default with that capacity in place. Our new devices running ReadyNAS OS 6 do not have this limitation.

Re: WD60EFRX WD red in Ultra4+ ?

1. Latest as we speak (or write =), 4.2.26
2. Yup XRAID2, i like the flexibility of it.

And yes i know about the expand bug =/.
If i can get some sort of confirmation that the 6tb disks will work in my NAS i dont mind a reset to be able to use them tho.
If not im pretty sure my next NAS wont be a netgear =/.
I really dont like that i feel forced to upgrade to get an up-to-date compatibility list.
Especially since what i get now for the price i payed 3 years ago is (performance wise) pretty much the same...

I would think the 6TB drives should work, however if you run into issues using drives not on the compatibility list support won't be able to help.
