Which Product(s) to buy
We are new to Netgear NAS products. We need one unit that will store & encrypt data in RAID 1 configuration for 1-2TB of data. We then need to access and transfer this data from outside our LAN. We must transfer the data encrypted. Must be compatible with both Windows and MAC.
What prducts should we be considering?

Re: Which Product(s) to buy
The Duov2 or Pro2 will work for what you are requesting. I would recommend a 4 bay unit if you are needing room for expansion.
All of the ReadyNAS supports ReadyNAS Remote which will have encrypted remote access options.

Re: Which Product(s) to buy
Store and encrypt? Or, just transfer and encrypt?
Readynas can do transfer and encrypt through Readynas Remote (or FTPS). Store and encrypt you would need a 3rd party solution such as Truecrypt or to consider another NAS vendor that offers at rest encryption. Currently Netgear offers NO at rest encryption.
