monitoring disk performance
Hi All,
im having great issues with performace, sadly only seem to be able to see cpu utilisation and tempatures.
nothing to tell me what the disk ultilisation is up to
queues on network and indivual drives
disk smart reports all good on every disk but clearly somethign is up as maxing out 15MB per second, network is caple of 120MB.
ive looked through several forum posts but anything that looks promising turns out to be dead links.
ive installed the netgear linux-dash but it gives little revelvant info.

Re: monitoring disk performance
if you have an iDevice, check out the istat addon, however the istat app is not free.

What NAS model, and what firmware is it running?
What client(s) are experiencing poor performance.
Is this on a gigabit ethernet connection?
Are you using network aggregation? If so, how is that configured?
You might want to download the log zip file and look at network_settings.log That will include information on the negotiated link speeds and packet statistics.
