olderversion of USB RECOVERY TOOL needed
Hello!
After a turning off my NAS, it would not come up again. Blinking Power LED for some time and than it goes dark.
Hooking up a monitor shows a kernel panic. After a while i was abel to fix that, but it still is not willing to go any further.
So i want to reinstall the OS with the USB RECOVERY TOOL, but the 2 versions i found yet v2.0.T14 and v2.0.R15-T3
stop after the kernel boot with "gpio_it87: Unknown Chip found, Chip 8721 Revision 4" (what can be found in 2 articles as well).
The discussion there is, that the usb sticks are to new or too old and bla bla., but thats not the case. If i boot e.g. a plain rufus
stick, it boots up.
So my question is, CAN ANYONE PROVIDE AN OLDER REV OF THE RECOVERY TOOL ???? (or a guide, how to install the *.img
manually) ?????
thanks in advance

Re: olderversion of USB RECOVERY TOOL needed
Hello jeepxtreme,
For the USB boot recovery do try to use different USB flash drive and also try to connect it to different USB port of the NAS.

Re: olderversion of USB RECOVERY TOOL needed
Hi jeepxtreme,
There is not much big change for usb recovery tools(most changes is to support new models), so the old version tools doesn't help for your case either.
if you have a bootable rufus with syslinux as bootloder( rufus can make bootable drive by syslinux), you can just copy all files from usbrecovery.v2.0.R15-T3/x86 to the usb, I think that should work.
BTW, you can ignore the "gpio_it87: Unknown Chip found, Chip 8721 Revision 4", that's just a warning. when usb recovery done, box will be powered up automatically.
