orbi 690 & RN3138 NAS

Moved across country and brought my RN3138 NAS with me...

At new location, I now have a ORBI 690 6E router w/2 satellites..   I connected my NAS to the network and can not access it.  I finally got RAIDer to come up but would not let me have access.  it says "your network storage is not accessible from this computer. Check your network settings". the new network is 192.168.1.x.  I believe I had the old NAS setup with 192.168.0.85 static.

The Router is showing a 192.168.0.85 but I have no access. I am running a MACBOOK PRO.  I tried the address from the browser, connecting to a SMB Server, and Raidar...  HELP

Re: orbi 690 & RN3138 NAS

Temporarily change your MBP to an IP address in the 192.168.0.x/24 range like 192.168.0.123 mask 255.255.355.0 gateway and dns for example to 192.168.0.1. Now you should be able to access the NAS again and change the IP address e.g. to DHCP so it will get an IP config assigned from the Orbi 960 router. Revert the MBP config to DHCP.

Re: orbi 690 & RN3138 NAS

There are two other ways:

  • change the Orbi LAN network temporarily to 192.168.0.x.  Log into the NAS and change it to use DHCP.
  • do an OS reinstall from the front panel of the NAS

See pages 44-47 for info on the OS reinstall.

It will

  • change the network config of to DHCP with no bonding
  • reset the admin password to password.
  • disable volume quota (can be re-enabled from the settings wheel on the volume tab)
