Access to ReadyNAS with Android mobile phone

I took over my ReadyNAS from a collegue. Now the ReadyNAS is runnin g but I can't get access with my mobile Android phone. All the answers I get from the interenet tell me that I have to usethe  ReadyNAS Remote app. But it's not in the google play app list. There are different apps but wich to use, I don't know.

I also tried using a Netgeat account, registered it, placed it in the authorisation of the ReadyNAS without any luck. Can someone tell me how to get access? From a to z.

Hello Reeds_dev,

If you are not the first owner, you cannot register the unit itself to the support team to take advantage of the support and warranty but that does not mean you can no longer use the product and access it through ReadyNAS Remote.

Your NAS must have been configured already wit ReadyNAS Remote before.

Let me tell you first, ReadyNAS Remote is not ReadyCloud but both are use for accessing the shares of the NAS remotely. you might come across with ReadyCloud, do not get confused. ReadyCloud is for ReadyNAS OS6 units such as RN102, RN104, RN314, etc. ReadyNAS Remote is ReadyNAS OS4 and ReadyNAS OS5 units like the one you are currently using.

To access your ReadyNAS system from your remote device (computer, smartphone, or tablet), you must first set up ReadyNAS Remote on your ReadyNAS system. Please see page 13 of the ReadyNAS Remote user manual.

Re: Access to ReadyNAS with Android mobile phone

Hello Reeds_dev,

Please include the model number of the NAS, the current firmware version, if it is accessible using a computer and if its volume has files that you want to keep. Please note that it is also always strongly recommended to always have full backup.

Welcome to the community!

Re: Access to ReadyNAS with Android mobile phone

Hello JennC,

I thought I had entered the model nr in the field at the top of the message. I have done that again now but will also put the information here,

Model according to the ReadyNAS dashboard: ReadyNAS Duo v2

Product model at the bottom of the ReadyNAS: RDN-2B

Product number: RND2000-200EUS

Firmware: RAIDiator 5.3.12

The ReadyNAS is fully operational and accessable by computer. It has volumes, shares and folders and files on it. But I can't get access with my mobile running on Android.

I found something on the internet that I had to register the ReadyNAS so to set the authorization. But it looks like one of the previous owners of the readyNAS has done the registration. I'm the third or fourth owner of it. Previous owner number two didn't do the registration and doesn't know the others. But I'm not certain if this would solve my problem.
