RN4220 Max Capacity?

RN4220 Max Capacity?

I'm considering a RN4220, but need 72TB raw capacity (12x6TB).  I'm confused whether this configuration is supported.  There is conflicting information.

When going through the nas filtering process on netgear.com, this model appears when I filter by 72TB.  But the spec sheet clearly lists 48TB as the max.  But the hardware compatability list includes several 6TB drive models.  Lastly, the biggest pre-populated model is 48TB (12x4).

So.... can I buy a diskless 4220 and fill it with 6TB drives?  Thank you.

Yes. I would recommend using a dual-redundant RAID level such as RAID-6.

You can buy 6TB disks from the compatibility list.

The spec sheet you saw would have been written before 6TB disks were available.

Make sure that you buy a v2 RN4220 if buying a second hand unit - the v1 units have a 2TB drive limitation in bays 5-12.
