Want to setup ReadyNAS 10400 as a drive to on Macintosh Desktop. Simple? Apparently not.
Hello.
I am looking to set up the ReadyNAS 10400 as a hard drive on my desktop for the purpose of copying the data from other hard drives to the ReadyNAS.
It would see that this is a trickier proposition than originally thought.
Any assistance; a link, a book, anything to understand how this box is supposed to behave would be appreciated.

The RN104 is a network storage device, so it is attached to your home network via ethernet. You set up network shares (folders) on the NAS that you then access with Finder. https://kb.netgear.com/21515/How-do-I-access-a-ReadyNAS-share-with-a-Mac
Hardware and software manuals for your NAS are found here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/RN104.aspx#docs
