readyNAS214 nfs very slow and scripts not executing on nfs share
Hi All,
I am trying to deploy my Netgear ReadyNAS214 as storage for web server.I have enabled NFS and mounted it to webserver but the I/O operations are very very slow.
Exceuting a tcl script , which normally takes 7-8 minutes on other nfs share, did not complete even in 24hrs.
Need assistance in deploying Netgear ReadyNAS214 as nfs share.
Thanks
Aktar

Re: readyNAS214 nfs very slow and scripts not executing on nfs share
Can you try using dd to measure read/write throughput?
Also, you might look at the network path, and confirm that it is gigabit end-to-end. Maybe look at the ethernet stats, just to confirm there are no network errors. I also suggest looking at the NAS smart stats, to confirm that there are no issues with disk health.
Are you wedded to NFS? You might try using iSCSI for this, and see how the performance compares.
Are you using all the bays in the RN214? Another approach is to add an SSD (creating a second volume) - which would greatly speed up random access.
