Can't access files from either ReadyCloud or Nighthawk Apps.

Can't access files from either ReadyCloud or Nighthawk Apps.
So, I have been trying to make available videos and files from my external hard drive. My ultimate intention is to have a dedicated router, not hooked up to the internet, to provide videos for my friends and I using either the Nighthawk or ReadyCloud app. So far, I have made sure that it was accessible and readable using the web interface and that, from the routerlogin page, the ReadySHARE is enabled. The device is registered and I have downloaded both apps. Using my mobile phone, I have not yet been able to find the interface that allows me to access what is available on the site. The closest I got was on ReadyCloud; when I selected my device I made it to a screen "you have no shares on this device" and a notification "NAS not found."

Maybe I am missing something, but ReadyCLOUD does what it says: "cloud".
Hard to see how that will work on a device that isn't connected to the Internet, which is where "the cloud" sits.
