Genie not installing on latest iMac
G'day from the land of Oz
I've downloaded the Mac version of Genie from the NetGear site, but after installing it opens a disk level invisible folder, and does not install the desktop Genie.app.
Any advice please? Running late 2014 iMac, i7, 27", El Capitan.

Re: Genie not installing on latest iMac
Hi @OzSanta,
The possible reason for this is that the standard account user does not inherit read permission which results in not being able to access the Genie app. Please try the following steps.
1. Log into the standard account.
2. Reinstall the Netgear genie app if it was removed.
3. Navigate to Applications folder.
4. Press and hold Control key and click on genie app icon and select Get info option.
5. Once the NETGEARGenie Info dialog box opens up click on Sharing & Permissions option to expend it.
6. Click on the Lock icon in the bottom right of the Window to enable editing of the options.
7. Click on the + icon in bottom left and double-click the standard account you want to add from the list of accounts under Users & Groups option.
8. Once the account is added it will get Ready Only permission for the NETGEAR genie app.
9. Click on the Lock icon in bottom right again to lock the permissions.
10. You should now be able to use the NETGEAR genie app without any issues.
Regards,
Dexter
