Genie "connection issue" during setup
I am having trouble setting up my router (GDNG3700v2). I follow the set up genie. After serval minutes it will say "dynamic ip detected" and "next to appy settings" at this point after a couple of minutes I get a "connection issue" error message.
I contacted netgear for trouble shooting and they told since the router was already registered, I bought it used on eBay) I couldn't receive help without paying $39+. Please help. I have contacted my ISP (centrylink) and gotten the setup info and still having trouble.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Genie "connection issue" during setup
When you say Centurylink, where in the country are you? Are you in the old US West/Qwest territory? If US West/Qwest and your service is ADSL you need to make sure you have your ADSL settings as follows;
Multiplexing Method - LLC-Based
VPI - 0 (zero)
VCI - 32
DSL Mode can be Auto
Transfer Mode - ATM
In Basic settings I have Encapsulation set to PPPoE
If you have VDSL service I don't think the DGND3700v2 supports it at all. If you have a DGND3700v1 you must use the custom firmware that is linked to in the "New firmware with built in Torrent Client" thread in this forum. The native Netgear firmware doesn't support VDSL.
