Genie using excessive CPU time
I own a Netgear R7000 WiFi router. Often I find my computer slowed down and when I investigate I find that the Netgear Genie software is running and using an excessive amount of CPU time (today was 30%). What is the Genie software doing and how can I stop it?
My system is Windows 7 - 64 bit.
This situation is intolerable and will lead to me uninstalling Genie and/or getting a different brand router.

The best thing to do with Genie is uninstall it and use a browser to connect to your router. You can also start to take performance hits on your network. There are many posts how people had various issues on the laptops and network with Genie. They shut down the app, and all is well. Genie is not a necessity..
