LAN access using Nighthawk app with R7000
Hello, so I just downloaded the Nighthawk app and started it and it was asking for an email and password or to create an account.
I dont have an email account for my router, why would I need that.
I just want to log into it using my admin/password on my LAN.
I am litterally standing 3 feet away from it and the Nighthawk app cant talk to it.
Futhermore the router has built-in VPN and ddns so remote access can be accomplished that way easily.
Do I need to toggle a setting in the router to enable direct comms between my phone and router with involving internet for now?
Thanks everybody

Hi Atervandring,
We recommend creating an account to register your router for warranty purposes.

Re: LAN access using Nighthawk app with R7000
Hello Christian, I have registered my netgear devices at my.netgear.com and the R7000 and other devices are a couple of years old already so warranty has probably expired.
What I am asking for is that the Nighthawk app can talk directly with my router without going through these cloud services/registered accounts, do you understand what I mean?.
I would like an option in the Nighthawk app to select local access only.
Again the router already has OPENVPN and DDNS built-in so remote access using Nighthawk app can be performed easily.
Please implement a LAN access only option.
Kindly Peter
