Have you ever received a notification from your Internet Service Provider letting you know you are close to or have reached your monthly data cap? For households that rely heavily on internet usage - think cord cutters, streamers, gamers - , there is a high chance this is a regular occurrence. What makes matters worse is the overage fees that follow, adding an unwanted cost to your monthly ISP bill.

A good way to stay on top of this is getting into the habit of tracking your monthly usage. With the Nighthawk and Orbi App, the Traffic Meter feature allows you to view your total download and upload data, giving you a snapshot of your usage.

Traffic Meter breaks down your total data transferred by current day, previous day, current week, current month, and previous month.

Additionally, you’ll be able to see a breakdown of your average usage by current week, current month, and previous month.

Regular use of the Traffic Meter feature can help build good habits of staying on top of your internet usage. By knowing how much data is being used, you’ll be able to better manage how often you are using the internet and make any needed adjustments. After all, the last thing you want to see is an unexpected $10 overage fee added to your currently monthly bill.

Are you currently using the Traffic Meter? What are some ways you stay on top of your internet usage to ensure you don’t go over your monthly data cap?
