NETGEAR Genie App: Changing Device Name & Type
I read everywhere that the issue relating to changing device names and types in network maps on the Genie Android app has been fixed. Let me just say from my experience that it has never worked for me. Everytime I change something, it never stores the name or the type of device. I'm currently running version 3.1.36 and still waiting for this to be resolved permanently. I have around 25 devices on my network and it is a big frustration having to change things every single time or check MAC addresses before I applied policies to devices. Please fix this. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro and a Galaxy Note 8 and both display the same problem. please please please sort this out it's really frustrating 😣😣😣😣😣😴😴😣😣😣😣

Re: NETGEAR Genie App: Changing Device Name & Type
Hi @YesYes,
1. What is the firmware version of the router?
2. Have you tried using the router UI to change the device name?
3. Does the name change reflect on the router UI (Advanced > Administration > Attached Devices) as well?
4. Have you tried resetting the router to factory defaults?

Dexter
