NETGEAR Genie Parental Control by Device has no effect
In NETGEAR Genie Network Map I see all the attached devices
I rightclick my son's and daughter's devices - set Parental Contols Filtering to HIGH
However i see no effect. Obvious adult sites are not filtered
I've rebooted the router and the devices
I'm not using the bypass account. I hope the answer isnt to install the bypass app on every device that uses my network
Devices Ive tested to no avail:
Nook
iPhone 5s
iPad mini

Re: NETGEAR Genie Parental Control by Device has no effect
Hi @jjdonahue,
1. Are the sites still coming through?
2. Make sure that the DNS settings of the router are set to the OpenDNS. If not, you can have it manually set to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 respectively.

Re: NETGEAR Genie Parental Control by Device has no effect
Thank for the reply
Yes - still no filtering is apparent on any of 5 devices I'm testing (iPhone 4 and HP Windows 10 laptop added to my test list)
Because its all devices on my network, Im convinced its a central set-up issue
On my router - the primary DNS and Secondary DNS are the IP addresses you list above

Re: NETGEAR Genie Parental Control by Device has no effect
Hi @jjdonahue,
1. What is the model number of the NETGEAR device?
2. What is the firmware version?
3. Have you tried resetting the device?

yes - I did a full restart by unplugging the router and counting to 10
Thank you for your assistance - it irks me that I can't figure this out

Re: NETGEAR Genie Parental Control by Device has no effect
Hi @jjdonahue,
I suggest performing a firmware re-flash then reset and reconfigure the router. You may refer to the links below for the steps.
