NETGEAR Genie is not connecting to router
When i was trying to connect netgear genie to the netgear router its displaying the error " login failed.the router response timed out "
i am unable to connect to the parental controls and the bypass account

What's the exact model number of the NETGEAR router?
What NETGEAR Genie are you using? Is it the app from the phone or the PC?

@jerbla What's the model number of your router?
Latest Genie version is 2.4.38.
Are you using wired or wireless connection in accessing the admin page?
Will you be able to access it if you open your browser and type www.routerlogin.net?

running the most recent version available of the Genie availble according to the Genie update?
Tried access through the routerlogin and the download does not work for mac, it does not go past veriffying stage.

it also only offers 2.4.22 for mac, as in the option I am running?

I'm using the latest version of Netgear Genie (v2.4.38) connecting to my NightHawk R8000 router and have the same problem.
The older Genie version works fine on my Mac, PC, and iOS device but now all three are not operational after the upgrade.
Clicking on Parental Control box in the center also gives me the "You don't appear to be connected to the Internet" error even though I'm typing this message on the same machine.

this will involve setting up all my zones etc again I assume? Not an ideal solution and having resterted a number of times, this would seem a standard reply leaving me to reset all after. Any other thoughts perhaps before I send a day re setting after a restore?

does not answer why the server does not connect?
Reset is a simple avenue with complex re working? any other spultions please?

does anyone from Netgear monitor this, I am really peeved that there is no real support for users to resolve issues with supposed functions of these items. The fact the Parential control is not accessible is a joke.
