Have just downloaded the Genie. Looks like what I want ok.

My router is a TP Link Wireless. Should this work with Genie ?

Netgear Genie is design to work with netgear routers. Wireless adapter should be handle the software provided by TP link or windows wireless utility

What is a wireless adaptor ?

I can select router info ok but when I go to enter password it will not accept the correct password.

Any ideas ?

Besides already having questionable value for Netgear products, why would you want to use software that was designed to be used with a different brand of router?

A wireless adapter is the interface in your computer that connects it to your wireless router. A simple search of the Internet can tell you this. As far as Netgear Genie goes, whatever works... works. Whatever doesn't.. doesn't.
