Nighhawk AC4000 Tri-band (R8000P) - Nighthawk app conflicts with Mobile app
At home, I use a Nighthawk AC4000 tri-band router connected to a (non-Netgear) Technicolour modem. I use the "Nighthawk" app on my smartphone. No problems, all ok.
Recently at the local village hall where I am the infrastructure guy, we installed a Netgear M1 hotspot modem - it connects various devices there (including solar, CCTV).
I want to access this set-up via the Netgear "Mobile" app. How do I do this ? The two apps appear to conflict. The Mobile app sees my own router and tells me to go away.
Please advise - thanks.

NH app only works with Nighthawk R, RAX, RAXE and RS series routers.
the Netgear MOBILE app only works with the MR series of cell service mobile routers.

Yes, thank you.
But how do I access the remote location via the "Mobile" app ? When it rejects my advances, because it sees my local Nighthawk router ?

Do you have the MR router connected in some way with the R8000P? You shouldn't.
The MOBILE app only connects to the MR router while your mobile device that you have MOBILE app installed on is connected to the MR router.

Re: Nighhawk AC4000 Tri-band (R8000P) - Nighthawk app conflicts with Mobile app
I am sitting at my desk at home right now. I access the Nighthawk app and it sees my own home network, ok as always.
I turn off the app.
I then turn on the "Mobile" app - it then says "Incorrect WiFi Mobile Router - please use the Nighthawk app". I can't by-pass this screen.
What to do ? I am pretty sure the "Mobile" app is the one to manage the M1 router.

So the mobile device connected to the R8000P, then the MOBILE app wont' work. You need to connect your mobile phone or pad to the MR router for the MOBILE app to work.
I have a MR here at work with me and MOBILE app connects.

OK, thank you Furry one. But how do I connect directly to the MR from my phone & "Mobile" app ?

I think I may have it.
I had wi-fi calling switched on on my smart phone, so it automatically connected to my home network.
Turn it off --- it looks for the M1 router, out in the universe.
Thanks

Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
