1. what router do you have?
2. what modem is it connected to? Xfinity modem isn't quite thorough. And if its a modem router combo device as you imply, its causing a double nat. A double nat happens when you cascade more than 1 router.

Fixes? There’s 3 options but only use 1.
---- Put the modem/gateway in modem only/pass through mode. This disables its routing functions.
-----Leave the modem/gateway in router mode but put the Netgears IP address into its DMZ. This forwards the data to the netgear. You can either leave the modem/gateway’s wireless enabled or disabled. Just make sure its using a different wifi channel to prevent interference
------Put the Netgear into access point mode. This disables its routing functions. Wifi/ethernet still works but it does disable some features.

3. what firmware is on the router?
4. if you're currently running in double nat mode, the netgear usually switches its default ip address to 10.0.0.1. Have you checked that address?

Thank you for the assistance. I am sort of tech savy but still have my limitations. I was able to get into the router about 6 months ago but now I cannot. I am having speed issues in the 5G-1. It has dropped to below 100MBS - jkcanvasMar 10, 2022Guide
plemans I was successful once to get logged in on the app. I have added the R8000 to the DMZ section of my Xfinity router. Now I have an ip adderss that does not match the wifi on my phone or Macbook Pro. I am so confused right now.

Your devices have a different IP address? What has what?
Your devices connected to the primary router will have a seperate ip from the ones connected to the netgear.
This is because you have 2 dhcp servers.

Your devices have a different IP address? Yes but that was before I did a factory reset and that married up the correct IP addresses.
What has what? I was trying to log in using my NetGear website ID and Password not the router ADMIN ID and password. DUH no wonder why it wasn't working.
Your devices connected to the primary router will have a seperate ip from the ones connected to the netgear. Yes my iPad and iPhone both have sperate IP addresses but was able to log in on both devices because I used the correct log in and password.
This is because you have 2 dhcp servers.
Thank you for the words of wisdom and teaching me what I should look at.
Cheers,
