Nighthawk app: Login Timed Out

I just installed the modem and Nighthawk app.  My experience has been WAY MORE that frustrating.  The app is useless as I cannot even get logged in.  When I enter "admin" and "password", I get an error message almost immediately that the process has timed out.  I have rebooted my modem, turned my phone off/on, uninstalled/reinstalled the app.  No luck doing anything that was recommended.  From the other posts, it appears this issue has been recurring for YEARS!!!!  Unacceptable!
