I also get the firmware out of date on the nighthawk application. I am on spectrum and they told me the firmware is up to date. I contacted Netgear and they couldn't help me because my warranty expired and I needed to pay. They can't fix this small problem. Please fix this problem.

You'll need to disregard the FW update message in the app.

The only problem is in the inability of some people to ignore a meaningless message.

 

Netgear knows about this bug in its app it and has said it will mend the thing.

 

That message has no effect on how a modem/router works, so don't expect immediate action. There are more important bugs to fix that really do break things.

 

Experienced users go nowhere near a mobile app in the first place.

I'm sorry but you didn't understand me. I can't even use the app with firmware is out of date message and I can't ignore it. They need to fix this app.

Do you work for Netgear? You sound just like them. We all should be able to us the App…period…hard stop

For users having problems with the NH app and your product model, you'll need to keep in contact with NG support as they need to review this. Nothing else we can do here in the forums.

Have you made contact wtih NG support about this? Theres not much the forum can do. This will need to be addressed by NG.

One year later.. still does not work. In the Nighthawk App on Android device I see a message that the firmware is out of date. Although, there is blue button at the bottom "CONNECT WITH ANYWHERE ACCESS". By pressing the button it opens a new screen saying that there are no devices available and I need to go to the app settings and enable anywhere access. The problem is, there is no MENU button anywhere. I found the app an absolute disgrace. No need to mention that it does not even allow me to log in with correct user name and password and I had to use 1-time password. It is that bad, and whatever business ideas they had behind the app, they will never reach users like me and people on this thread.

Which device are you trying to control and what is the firmware version on it? Apps and firmware are closely tied to one another.

 

You have joined in on an existing conversation that may or may not have anything to do with your problems.


There is also a good chance that the official support team is busily monitoring new conversations and may miss your addition to this long running saga.


If you do want help with your problem, check previous stuff that may be related then start your own discussion.


If you do decide to ask a question, you should provide more details and your own version of the information that the forum suggests that you provide.

 


Subject (Include model number and brief summary)
Model (Recommended - Helps the community give the best answers)
Body (Include additional detail including model version, firmware, OS and environment where relevant.)

Thank you for the confirmation. You should be fine to go now that your device's firmware is up to date. I'll share the info to our App Team, who will investigate the Nighthawk app and make any necessary modifications.

The app tells me to use routers login.net to update firmware, but there is no way to do so.

If this is a cable modem/router, the C7800 in your footer, the app is talking rubbish. This is a well known bug in the app.
