When I go into my nighthawk app it shows at the bottom unable to connect router. I am using the eax80 extender. Please help.
Which Nighthawk app? iOS? Android?
Have you connected to the wifi from the extender?
How is the eax80 configured?
Manuals are always a good place to start.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.
Begin with the Quick Start/Installation Guide.
You may have done that already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear gave up on supplying paper manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

If you're on ios, make sure icloud relay and private mac/ip address are disabled.
Then retry

iOS apps seem to be especially troublesome.
Is the wifi working otherwise?
As this is an extender, it has to cooperate with a router of some sort. What else is in your network?

The WiFi is working just fine. What do you mean by what else is in my network?
You've got the EAX80 (extender) connected to something.
what router is it connected to?
What gateway is the router connected to?
Understanding what your whole networking setting can sometimes help

Re: Nighthawk app
Are you still able to access it using its ip address? (found in the xfinity routers attached devices page)

Re: Nighthawk app
could be the app or xfinity's router causing the issue.
If you can still access it using its ip address, I wouldn't worry to much about it.
Tough to prove if its the app or the router causing the issue

Re: Nighthawk app
Xifinity tech support is about worthless.
If the router is using a firewall and preventing the apps connection, it could be an issue.
Not saying it is, just saying they're tech support isn't the greatest.
Are you on ios or android?

I've seen them causing issues with using the app
