Nighthawk app

Why does the box for this router call it Nighthawk, AC 1900 c7000v2 but it is not on the compatilility list for the Nighthawk app? I am confused and unhappy that my only option is Genie. Genie is obsolete and no longer supported. Am I correct in my assumptions or can I use the Nighthawk app?

Nighthawk is a name used for many different devices, by far not all are supported by the Nightawk App.

Many Nightawk router owners would be more than happy to get the Genie App back, allowing it to manage their routers.

Afraid, you are not correct: Much more you are mislead by a very poor Netgear marketing campaign. Genie continues to be workable and supported for many routers, cable modem/routers, xDSL routers, ...
