Powerline Utility by Netgear
I got a pair of PL devices XAVB1601 the passwords for each device is different. I downloaded on PC Netgear "Powerline Utility
D 3.1.0.4" anticipating to access the ethernet port of each device changing the encrypted passwords to one unique for both PL
devices. I am getting a response " No device in the network". Is there another utility allowing me to complete my task ?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Powerline Utility by Netgear
It seems, Netgear's Powerline Utility is for the birds. So, there are two choices either to use Netgear's Genie or ZyXEL powerline utility.
I will look at ZyXEL's since I am not familiar with that yet.
Thanks.

Re: Powerline Utility by Netgear
Pretty well any Powerline Utility seems to work. I have also looked at Devolo's version.
Another thing to consider is Netgear's desktop genie for your operating system. It can map your Powerline Plugs. (Takes time to get there.)
If you right-click on the plugs (arrowed) you can get at the security settings:
If you want the desktop genie for Windows start here:

You may have to dismiss an annoying pop-up that tries to push a mobile app down your throat.

Re: Powerline Utility by Netgear
I observed strange performance of Netgear's Genie Ver. 2.4.62 ( latest update 😞 it discovers in my home network only 3 of 4 powerline
devices (XAVB1601 ) and does not show transmission Tx & Rx link speeds between those powerline devices.
Previous version of Genie 2.2.27.1 had no problems in discovering all four devices and showing transmission speeds.
