Router theft
I work in an office where there is a switch, one router and several computers. One night, while no one was in the office, someone broke in and stole the switch and router. As I was later explained, the router had weak protection. So the robbers may have managed to hack it.

Virtually any hardware, including business class $$$, $$$$, $$$$$ and $$$$$$ USD devices, can be recovered, factory reset, controlled if there is physical access. One of the first check items in a security audit: How is the access to router, core switch, and the other switches protected physically.
Or would you throw away the router if the admin dos forget the password?
