The app is telling firmware is out of date but when I try to log in to routerlogin.net, the password and username does not work. info for username and password is admin and password but it’s still not working please help

If it was changed, it won't be the default. 

To get back to the dafault password, you'd need to factory reset. 

push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered up. 

Then you can re-install it.

FYI, the firmware is not user updateable. It has to be pushed by the isp and they rarely update firmware on 3rd party devices.
