Smart Connect is not switching to 5GHz band automatically
Hello,
In my wiressless router settings I have enabled the "Smart Connect" in my Wireless settings page, for automatic band selection for the wireless clients.
When I am in a bedroom, which is too far from the router, I am getting connected to 2.4GHz band but when I moved to the room where my router is, I am still on 2.4GHz (even I am in the router room for an hour).
But if I Turn OFF and Turn ON the WiFi on my iPhone, then I am getting connected to 5GHz band in the same place.
So why my router is not updating the band to 5GHz even if I moved near to router and stayed there for a longer time?
Firmware: V1.4.1.68_1.3.28

It might help to think of this the other way round.
It is your iPhone that is refusing to connect to the 5 GHz source when you are nearer to the router.
The router is doing its job. It is broadcasting wifi. It is down to the iPhone to work out which one to use.
