Which Nighthawk? Look for a model number on the label on the thing.

DSL? Cable? Something else? Does it have a row of Ethernet ports on the back?
You seem to be using a mobile app to set things up. (Which one? iOS? Android?)
Have you tried using the browser graphical user interface (GUI) and a wired Ethernet connection
Troubleshooting relies on having accurate step by step details of what you are doing, and where things go wrong.

It does have multiple Ethernet ports on the back. I used the app on my iPhone and iPad with IOS. I have tested the wired Ethernet directly to my computer and that worked.
