Router is excellent but had problems with Genie app and now Nighthawk app. If I reboot router the network mapping function will work for less than 30 to 45 seconds. It appears to refresh every 10 seconds or so. Also is there any way of renaming the devices? Thanks for your reply

Re: Using Nighthawk app with r7000 router, app crashes quite often will sometimes start after reboot
App rhymes with crap for a good reason.
What firmware version do you have on the router?
A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.
Network mapping has never been much cop. You might find it easier to use the desktop app (genie) for whatever operating system you have on your PC.
If you want the desktop genie for Windows start here:
genie Landing Page | Apps | Discover | Home | NETGEAR
Just dismiss the annoying popup for the apps.
