Why does the PAUSE function not work on the Nighthawk app? I have to keep these kids in check!!

I need to be able to turn off the wifi when kids aren't listening and this app or this router doesn't seem to be working. Looking at other posts this seems to be a common issue. What gives Netgear? 

up to date firmware, app and have restarted. 

I turn it off and the kids still use their iPads while I look like a goon.

Need a fix asap.
