Re: Wireless speed Nighthawk app vs ookla spped test
When you test via the nighthawk app, it hosts the test off the router. Meaning its a hardwired test directly from the router.
When you test via an app on a phone/table, its running off that device and using the wireless.
You didnt' put how you were testing the other or which device you were using but you put using an app so I'm imagining its wireless.
many factors influence wireless. the most important being band. The 2.4ghz band is much much slower than the 5ghz band. If you're on that band, 50mbps is actual fairly decent in some areas.
And it impacts what wireless device you're testing on. A 1x1 antenna device is going to perform much lower than a device with a 2x2 antenna.
also in AP setup: RAXE500->EAX80
1.4gig download/50mbps upload from Xfinity
