installing nighthawk app to replace existing netgear router
Do I have to completely remove the nighthawk app to replace my existing netgear router with a new one?

The question appears to be ambiguous.
- If the existing router is a Nighthawk and will be replaced with a Nighthawk, nothing special need be done.
- If the existing router is a Nighthawk and will be replaced with an Orbi, the Nighthawk app cannot be used to configure the Orbi, so the Orbi app will have to be installed. The Nighthawk app can remain on the smartphone (in cause you decide to "go back" to the Nighthawk). At some point, most people would remove the Nighthawk app as a matter of "housekeeping."
