so i was gifted a used modem combo C7000V2 which i connected last night and factory reset it, i tried to connect it to the app but it continiously says that the Frimware is out of date but when i look through the netgar support and look at spectrum it says that the V1.02.09 is the approved firmware, what do?

Nothing to do about it. The firmware comes from the ISP so its not user changeable. And the ISP's rarely update it.
I'd simply disregard the message.

So use the browser to log into/manage the router. Tends to have more info/setting that route

There is a bug in the current iOS Nighthawk app.
