EX8000 needs to be reinstalled every week

EX8000 needs to be reinstalled every week

Hello, I have in my house a R8500 router and 2 EX8000 extenders. The two range extenders are more or less the same distance from the R8500 router. But one of the range extenders, I have to reinstall once per week. All of a sudden Nightgear_EXT appears in the available Wifi channels. I have this range expender since May last year.

It is really annoying as the spead dissappears in a part of our house.

Is this range extender broken?

What firmware version is on the one that drops?

From the sound of it, its resetting back to factory. 

Have you tried reinstalling the firmware on it (in case somethings corrupt)?

the firmware version is: V1.0.1.224.

 

I haven't tried yet reinstalling the firmware.

I would try reinstalling the firmware. 

Like I said, if its resetting back to factory, something isn't right with the firmware. 

If it wasn't resetting back to factory, I'd be looking at other things but that kind of points at a firmware issue because somethings triggering it.

Thanks, I have reset the EX8000 to factory default and configured it again.

It seems also faster now. I hope this is the solution.

Did you reinstall the firmware or just factory reset?
If it doesn't work, try the reinstall. If somethings corrupt, a reset only removes old settings, it doesn't overwrite the firmware. Thats what reinstall the firmware could fix.

I have only reset to factory default.If the problem persists, I will reinstall the software.
