MR60 Router degraded since update and app has several glitches.

As of two days ago, my wifi speeds dropped by half.  Also noticed that on the app, I could no longer see devices hooked up to my router or satellite on the network map, and if I tried to test my router speed on the app it would show all zeros, and say my internet speed was moderate.  Finally, on the router login page, it wouldn't let me run a speedtest, so had to go to a seperate page.  Called "customer service" and they manually walked me through the .122 update, and for some reason they weren't pushing this out automatically.  Now my router speed is back to normal, but my satellite is showing connected and good, but is not providing any wifi upstairs.  If I do a speed test with my laptop in the office with the satellite, I get the same speeds regardles if the satellite is plugged in or not.  Spoke with Level 1 tech and Level 2 tech support two days ago, and had to upload 15 screenshots and programs and debug logs, and being told they will get back to me in 2-3 days.  Called again today and the Level 1 guy couldn't tell me if my case has been elevated to level 3 yet, and neither could the supervisor.  I could request an update from level 2 and they would call me in 24-48 hours.  Heard back from level 2 finally on Sat and they forgot to elevate my case to level 3 so now that several more days I have to wait for a "solution." So, now I wait with a satellite that doesn't work, an app that works partially, and a house with half of my normal internet speeds.  Returning this system and buying from another company is looking better and better...

What happens if you revert back FW to what had been working?

Has a full reset on the MS and MR and setup from scratch been performed?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between MR and MS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

Re: MR60 Router degraded since update and app has several glitches.

So my case is hard, as it seems like overnight my speeds dropped by half.  I was on v .116, and nothing changed in the house in the 2 months I had the system.  I called tech support and they walked me through the manual install of v. 122 on the router and satellite, and the speeds increased somewhat near the router, but the rest of the house is very slow and unrelaible.  Also, the new version of the app is very buggy as well, and I can't see any devices connected to router or satellite.  So it seems to have issues on v.116 and v.122, and we even tried a full reset on the router but not satellite.   Also, router and satellite are on seperate floors and opposite ends of the house.  Sq footage is only 1500'.  Maybe I could try a full reset on both and go back to v.116, but I have no idea how to do that.  Level 3 techs are now wanting me to install a Beta version, but that seems even scarier...

I would have reset the MS as well if the MR was reset after the FW was updated. IF tech support is offering a beta FW beyond v122, I would try one last ditch effort to let NG try this. Update the MS first then MR lastly.

You can use this to update the MS and MR:

https://kb.netgear.com/23960/How-do-I-manually-update-the-firmware-on-my-NETGEAR-router

Log into the MSs web page using the IP addresses they get from the MR using a wired PC and web browser.

Once the MR and MS have come back to try, try a full power OFF of the MR and MS for 1 minute then back ON. You might first test with a MR and 1 MS online first. If you have a 2nd MS, leave it off after the FW is updated.

Ensure the distance between the MR and MS is about 30 feet to start. Too close could be causing problems.

Be sure to test the speed with a wireless device connected at the MR first, then disable the wifi radio on the wifi device, then move near the MS and then re-enable the wifi radio on the wireless device to ensure it connects to the MS. Try the internet and speed test at the MS.
