Nighthawk MR80 won't allow DNS changes after FW update!!
I applied the latest firmware on my Nighthawk MR80 and I just realized my DNS servers can't be changed. I tried going in and changing them to OpenDNS servers but I am not allowed to do so. I have tried different computers, browsers, restarting the router, switching the radio setting from getting automatically from ISP to use these DNS servers and vice versa and nothing. I can change the DNS options all day but when I set it to "Use these DNS servers" and wait for the page to reload I still can't enter the IPs I want to use. Either this is a bug in Firmware version v1.1.6.14_3.1.101 or I'm missing something. Support from Netgear is non-existent unless you pay a support fee which is ridiculous, if I would've known that I would've chosen another brand. I can't even email or call support and this is supposed to be one of their top of the line models. Please fix this!
Thank you,
Frustrated Customer

Re: Nighthawk MR80 won't allow DNS changes after FW update!!
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
Nighthawk Mesh System - NETGEAR Communities
Those things are very different from the standard Netgear DSL modem/routers covered in this section.
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Re: Nighthawk MR80 won't allow DNS changes after FW update!!
did you try using a different browser or pc?
Are you using ipv6? If so, you have to change it on the ipv6 side as well.
