Which is the ideal mesh system/setup to extend my current Nighthawk (RAX120) – AX6000 setup?
I currently got a Nighthawk (RAX120) – AX6000 that fully attend my demands but I am moving to a 3 floor house and I understand I will need a mesh system to further extend my network range.
What is the current bet alternative (Orbit, Nighhawk mesh, etc.) to keep using my Nighthawk (RAX120) – AX6000 but further extend its network through a Mesh setup.
I am not willing to have a second network from a Mesh setup from scratch but to have my current Nighthawk as the original source of the network to be extended through mesh.
Based on this architecture insights I will be able to decide which mesh bundle to purchase.
Thanks in advance!
Roger
I could definetely spread some Ethernet cables to some rooms in different floors.
By that you imply that maybe just some access points could be enough instead of mesh?

The RAX120 isn't a mesh router. So the other systems wont' "mesh" with it.
You can use it as primary router with either wireless enabled or disabled depending on choice and then use the mesh system as access points. I frequently do something similar with having a primary router for peak performance/setups and then a mesh system for overal all coverage.
What square footage is the home?
What are the interior walls made of?
how many satellites are you looking at using?

It is a 3 floor penthouse with concrete walls and floors, so it should interfere with WiFi signal.
Each floor has around 140 sq meters (1500 sq feet) aprox, but all brick wallks, it is in the top of the building.
I'd be planning to use 2 sattelites, one per floor (if that is enough) + the RAX120 router to cover a 3rd floor (that could be the mid one) but I am open for suggestions about this architectures and quantities as well.
Since I have a bunch of Netgear Poweline extenders a wired backhaul would be an option, but I would be looking forward.
Thank you for the help! :)

Ouch. That concrete/brick will be a headache/problem for any device.
any chance its ran with ethernet or coax?
a 1500 sq ft floor is a large space and if it has multiple brick/conrete walls, its definitely going to be a challenge for 1 device to cover a whole floor.
It might be worth waiting until you move in and testing the RAX120 to see how well it covers a single floor. That'd at least give you an idea of coverage

Oh and is there the option of a wired backhaul versus using a wireless one?
