AC1900/R7000 router

Question: I just replaced an older Netgear router with a AC1900 Nighthawk, can I still use the older extender or should I use a new Nighthawk extender? Will the speed be faster?

I would use an extender that matches the same connection rates or better, than the new NG router supports. You don't want to use something that uses a lower connection rate. There is a EX7000 that matches the R7000. Or you can install a EX7700 or 8000.

If you need the extra speeds that the R7000 offers at the further distance, you'll want to update. If the extender is just hosting low bandwidth devices, you'd probably be alright to reuse one. it'll be the weak point for devices connected to it but you could always try it and see how it works. If its to slow, upgrade.
