AX1800 wifi extender connected by lan to Comcast/Infinity modem ethernet jack. works at 7' not at 50

 

Hello. Connection works at about 7' of lan.  The light next to the lan jack on the back of the Comcast modem is lit and everything works.  Connecting to same jack on Comcast modem, but with 50' of lan, no light turns on next to the jack on back of Comcast Infinity.  I have just verified continuity.

Is it possible that this old Comcast/Infinity is not capable of sending signal through 50' ?

    anythings possible. 

    something to try if you have an switch sitting around is to go xinfity---7'cable---switch----50'cable--device and see if it works. 

    If that doesn't work, then swap and go xfinity-----50'-----switch----7ft----device. 

    It could help determine which switch is the issue. And maybe it is the 50ft cable.
