Hi There

any help greatly appreciated

I am not getting any green lights on the front

if i reset they are amber then go out

if i push the wps

they flash for a few minutes

then go out

I have spent about 4 hours trying to resolve this including

1.reset

2.speaking to some dubious tech support in India that I found by googling netgear they looked liked the legit tech support- wanted to sell me a package to remove malware- I dont have any- who are they? very suspicious, $115 USD to fix my problem wtf

3. Following the instructions

tried to connect with my wifif net

got the message "You are not connected to your extender's WiFi network."

then followed the instructions

To log in to your extender, enter one of the following URLs in your web browser depending on your device: ( Ihave a macbook)

    • Mac OS X or iOS: wy wifi local

    • that just times out with this message

      This site can’t be reached

mywifiext.local’s server IP address could not be found.

      DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

i then go here
to anothe help page

but cant fix it

is it bin time?

Did you clear everything out with a factory reset?

Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while the router is powered on.

Then, take a pc/laptop and hardwire it into the extender. Disable the wifi on the pc/laptop to ensure it isn't defaulting back to that connection.

Then try going to the mywifiext  . net  or to 192.168.1.250

I'd also try different browsers as well. It seems like it goes through a cycle where chrome breaks for a bit while firefox works and then firefox doesn't work and chrome does.

what router are you trying to connect it to?
