Confirming my AC2200 is connected to my AC1900and is using the same SSID

I've been reading through the posts here and am confused.  I have 'synced' my AC2200 with my AC1900 router (light is solid green) and I want it use it provide better coverage in the downstairs (router is upstairs), so same SSID, but I can't tell if it is working. It doesn't show up as a device in my AC1900's list.  The product page on the Netgear site says this "NOTE: Firmware upgrade & factory reset required to unlock Mesh WiFi features.", but no instructions on how to do this.  Some postings on this site seem to indicate that this extender can't have the same SSID as my router, which contridicts the product specs.  Any tips?

As per the Release Notes, the EX7300 does support Mesh config starting from the 1.0.2.x firmware (1.0.2.136 says "Supports Mesh features."). Get the current firmware from the EX7300 Downloads, as of writing 1.0.2.140. Download the ZIP archive, unpack it, and select EX7300-EX6400-V1.0.2.140.img for the upload.

If you had earlier firmware in place before (some 1.0.1.x), do a reset, using a paper clip or similar object, press and hold the Reset button for about seven seconds. Release, give it some time to restart, and run the initial configuration again, starting with a wireless (or wired) connection to the EX7300 again, and follow the guidance.

Re: Confirming my AC2200 is connected to my AC1900and is using the same SSID

Thanks for the info.  After I posted this, the extender 'magically' appeared in my router's device list and it asked me if I wanted to update FW. So I said yes.  Then I could connect to the extender via the IP listed in the device tab.  When I connected a Arlo base station to the ethernet port of the extender, the extender no longer shows up on the router's device list and I could no longer login to it.  What's weird is that the base station showed up on the router's device list for a while, then it dropped off, but all the cameras connected work, very puzzling.  Maybe they are listed on the extender's device list but since I can no longer log directly into my extender, I can't tell. Not sure it's a quirk or by plugging in a ethernet device changes things some how.

This does read more like a problem with the unspecified router (AC1900 can be whatever) device list.- the Attached Devices view seems to be a hot and miss on some recent Netgear router firmware, sometimes more obvious with QoS enabled.

You might want to check the router log (permitting the DHCP activity is visible) to find the Arlo Base Station IP address.

What does the Arlo Base Station Status/Internet LED show? As you state the cameras are visible in the App and the Arlo Web cloud, there must be some connectivity from the base station over the router to the Arlo cloud - what would not be possible if the base station would not have a workable LAN IP address.

Last: No, the Arlo cameras (except of the Arlo Q models) won't show up on the local network as they have no IP address visible to the LAN beyond of the base station.
